Telephony VOIP Engineer
Telecommunications engineer to perform telephone switch and server installations, relocations, removals, troubleshooting, and configuration. As a member of the Data Center Services Telephony organization, the engineer will be involved in planning and implementing Voice, Video, Chat, and Teleconference modernization activities and will be responsible for accurately completing related documentation. As part of modernization, must be able to install and configure systems in a lab environment and perform system test and evaluations. Must be able to provide leadership and direction to Technicians in the proper operations and maintenance of all hardware and software that supports the voice infrastructure. Must possess exceptional customer service skills and adhere to all security regulations of the site.
Must meet contract level requirements for the level/position. Candidate should have 8 years of experience in telecommunications OR equivalent combination of experience and education
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering is preferred (5 additional years of telecommunications experience may be substituted for a degree).
Must have a thorough knowledge of a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) technologies.
Must have a thorough knowledge of communications systems such as Cisco CUCM, Cisco VCS, and/or Skype for Business on Premises.
Strong knowledge of TCP/IP and DHCP troubleshooting is preferred.
Experience with Session Border Controller (SBC) and SIP detailed traces is a plus
Use/knowledge of managing virtualized applications
Use/knowledge Microsoft Office Applications
Must possess good communication and customer service skills

Must be able to lift 40 pounds and be able to climb ladders.
