Engineering Technician

Position Details

LOCATION: Annapolis Junction, MD | Monday thru Friday

Position requires an active TS/SCI with polygraph level clearance. US citizenship is required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides tier 2 and 3 system support. Assists by providing large scale computer systems for hardware failures and applicable optimizations. Additionally, provide management of board processes which include on-site and off- site depot coordination, troubleshooting and fault isolations.


  • Provide system assembly, maintenance, troubleshooting and shipping.

  • Provide system and component assembly, disassembly, unit testing, life cycle support, transition to operations.

  • Assist with software upgrades.

  • Assist with software maintenance teams to troubleshoot software defects.

  • Support software AG upgrades

  • Monitor operational capability of large-scale computer systems and the health of systems using provided tools. Includes power, cooling and applications.

  • Watch status screens to detect hardware or application failures that reduce processing capability.

  • Alert appropriate support personnel when alert detected. Record their timeframes.

  • Provide daily pass-down reports to next shift and management.

  • Interface with facilities personnel to assure continuous system operation.

  • Track daily metrics and provide monthly status report.

  • Report all SW problems to appropriate teams.

  • Provide daily progress/status reports by shift to appropriate personnel.

  • Assist with improving requalification test and processes to improve systems stability and longevity.

  • Participate with familiarization training and other forms of training as required to support operational systems.

  • Participate with team meetings to ensure integration planning and maintenance implementation to meet requirements.


EXPERIENCE

  • Desired skills of troubleshooting and fault isolation, multitasking, IT hardware repair, and working in a team environment


REQUIREMENTS

  • Position requires an active TS/SCI with polygraph level clearance. US citizenship is required.

  • DoD 8570 IAT II level certification.

  • Minimum five (5) years of demonstratable experience with integrating, installing, configuring, upgrading, compiling and supporting COTS/GOTS software in a heterogeneous operation system environment or thirteen (13) years minimum experience in lieu of degree.



Salary:

The likely salary range is up to $145K. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
